Redefining Checkout for Speed & Trust

At Moglix, checkout was the single biggest growth lever. With 5M+ monthly visits, even small friction meant lost revenue at scale. The old flow was fragmented, coupons were hidden, payments often failed without recovery, and mobile usability lagged behind. We set out to rebuild checkout to be faster, clearer, and mobile-first, and the results were transformative.

The Approach: 5 Lenses of Impact

I structured the revamp using my 5-lens framework — a repeatable model I use for high-impact UX:

  • Friction Audit – remove redundant steps and blockers.

  • Trust Triggers – design confidence into payments and status updates.

  • Value Visibility – surface savings upfront to accelerate decisions.

  • Mobile-First Reality – optimize for speed and clarity on small screens.

  • Recover & Reinforce – create fallback loops to rescue failed actions.

This framework aligned stakeholders and kept the team focused on reducing drop-offs, increasing trust, and ensuring every decision drove measurable outcomes.

What Changed

The checkout experience was rebuilt around clarity and speed. Fragmented steps were consolidated into a single streamlined page. Coupons and savings were made visible early in the flow. Payment failures triggered recovery popups instead of dead ends. And the mobile PWA was optimized to be twice as fast and touch-friendly.

The Impact

Key Features

  • One-page Checkout Flow: Consolidated steps into a single, simplified interface.

  • Early Coupon Visibility: Displayed discounts and savings upfront.

  • Smart Error Handling: Clear error states and guided recovery.

  • Transaction Recovery Popup: Helped recover failed orders with retry options.

  • Mobile-optimized PWA: Faster load times, touch-friendly interactions.

The revamped checkout delivered tangible business impact:
